All Volunteers are Welcome!
What We Do
Volunteers prepare books for distribution by boxing them up according to age range, topic, or any particular need.
Monthly meetings help keep everyone up to date and are a great chance for volunteers to meet each other.
Each book is reviewed, gently cleaned, and sorted according to age or by special topic.

Opportunities to Help
Looking for ways to get your organization involved in the community?
We'd love to work with you! Volunteer opportunities are flexible and varied.
The critical work that Read to Me! ABQ Network does just couldn’t happen without volunteers. Thank you to all our dedicated friends, colleagues, and neighbors who so generously provide their time gathering, sorting, cleaning, boxing, and distributing books to our community! Are you interested in volunteering with us? Please fill out the form below and click the submit button. You can also read more about our volunteer opportunities through the One ABQ Volunteers website.
Welcome to the Book Room

We welcome volunteers who can visit our Book Room at pre-arranged times to unpack boxes of incoming (gently used) books. Books are assessed for cleanliness, damage or scribbling, and attractiveness (would a child want to pick up this book?), then sorted by grade level. We offer a relaxed, inquisitive, and productive atmosphere.
The Book Room is located at 601 Yale SE, a couple of short blocks south of Coal Ave, in the southeast quadrant of the sprawling City Transit (Mayor David Rusk Bldg) Maintenance Facility. It is north of Cesar Chavez Blvd and immediately north of the Quarters package liquor store, on the west side of Yale. Map Apps don’t know about our entrance, so print this page before you come, and watch for the yellow water hydrant across from the cemetery.
We all park directly in front of the three southern-most LARGE BLUE bus garage doors on the west side of Yale Ave, directly across from the cemetery. If the glass door near the blue metal staircase with yellow “Fire Exit” sign is not open, please knock.
